The following questions will be Addressed...
1. Can a “Believer” be Deceived?
2. What determines who can be deceived?
3. Am I Listening to the Spirit of Truth or the Spirit of Error?
“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect. But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand.” Mark 13:21-23
How can we safeguard ourselves from being deceived in these last days?
II Thessalonians 2:10, says, "He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them." ... They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved."
In order for people to safeguard themselves from being deceived, we must learn how to fervently pray and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us. We also need to listen to the convictions of the Spirit. Satan will do all he can to deceive us, just as he did when he deceived Eve. Do everything you can to align your life with God’s Will and watch out for self-deception.
Scripture repeatedly tells us to watch out for people who may try to deceive us, but sadly many people overlook the warning. If there has ever been a time to be on guard it would be now. More and more wolves are popping up in Sheep’s Clothing and deceiving many. Immerse yourself with the Word of God so you don’t become a victim. Meditate on the Bible daily. Take steps to remove anything from your life that is hindering your growth in Christ.
God preserves forever those He has elected to salvation. How does the elect reveal themselves? By believing in Christ and being on guard against all who oppose Him (Mark 13:23).
For the elect are those who rest in Christ alone for salvation (Romans 8:28-30).
