Welcome to Astoria First Assembly of God church!

Welcome to Astoria First Assembly of God church! We are beyond excited that you are here! We've got a place for you!! Gather your family and Worship with us this weekend! YOU BELONG HERE!

It’s our great pleasure to invite you and your family to join us this Sunday, January 12, 2025, at 10:30 AM, for our In-Person Worship Service Gathering. Pastor Nick will be preaching a message entitled, "The Prayer that Heaven Rewards."

Matthew 6:6 says, "But when you pray, go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you".

Private prayer - Jesus is warning against public prayer to be seen by others. Instead, he encourages people to pray in private, where they can open their hearts to God without distractions.

Genuine relationship - Jesus is emphasizing the importance of a humble relationship with God, free from the desire for public recognition.

Reward - Jesus promises that God will reward those who pray in secret. This reward is a sign of God's love and desire for people to enjoy him.

We want to take a moment to extend a very warm welcome to all of you who might be considering visiting us for the very first time! Whether you are just having a look or searching for a place to Worship, we are delighted to have you with us.

Astoria First AG Church is a Bible-based, evangelistic, Spirit-empowered church. At Astoria First AG, we’re all about people. We’re all about people because God is all about people. One of the ways we express our love for Him is through our love for people, and we do that by helping each person who comes to Astoria First AG grow in their relationship with the Lord.

As a group of God’s people, we care about you and your family, and we’re here to not only feed you spiritually, but to help you in any way we can. We love doing it and that is why we exist.

God has a beautiful plan for your life. And He wants to lead you each step of the way. That is why one of the names of God, Emmanuel, means "God with us.”

God wants to be intimately involved in our lives. He wants us to know His voice and follow Him. In fact, He wanted to be with us so strongly that He sent His Son, a part of Himself, to physically walk the earth. That baby in the manger was God and He is still with us today.

Let this be God’s gift to you: Take a step of faith and believe that God loves you intimately, He has a great plan for your life, and His promises are true.

Why not make some time to attend church. We were never meant to do life alone...we were created to do life WITH others!

We’re here for you. The people in our church are so friendly and welcoming. So whether it's your first time joining us at Astoria First Assembly or you're a regular attender, please come out and join us. Spending time with other people can help you get through a period of loneliness. Remember, Life is Better in a Group! Let's Do Life Together!

If you are going through a difficult time in your life at the moment, please know this one thing--we were never meant to do life alone, we were created to do life WITH others! Whatever your circumstances, remember that what we are celebrating here is hope. If you’re not able to wrap your arms around the noise of the season, then just wrap your fingers around that simple truth.

We trust that you will make joining us at Church a part of your weekend plans. With a relevant message, engaging worship, and plenty of activities for the whole family, this Sunday will be a celebration @ Astoria First Assembly which you don’t want to miss!

Whether you prefer traditional or contemporary worship, we invite you to celebrate the good news in Jesus Christ with us as you worship with us!

The Holy Spirit is always THE true Worship Leader. He’s leading us to glorify Jesus, revealing Jesus to our hearts, and performing miracles in our midst. When the Word of God, the Spirit of God, and the Hunger of His people collide, there’s no telling what could happen.

We aren’t simply gathering to worship – we’re worshipping the Father, our merciful God, our great Redeemer, etc.

Worship is about honoring and praising our Lord and Savior. It is a time when we gather together to experience the presence of the Holy Spirit, and express our joy and gratitude. The power of God’s word touches those who are hurting and awakens hope for the hopeless.

Worship is anything you do that declares the worth of the Lord, which deepens your relationship with Jesus, and urges others to follow after him. That is to say, worship changes as our relationship with Jesus grows deeper.

When was the last time you went before the Lord, and just listened? Worship can be very active, with singing, fellowship, and public church services, but there comes a point where our worship must include being still, and meditating on God’s word.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:6‬ (KJV)

If you have children, we want to let you know that our Children's Ministries staff offers an amazing Kid's Church experience for your children downstairs in the Fellowship Hall every Sunday following worship.

We invite you to bring your child to church every Sunday to interact with other kids and learn from the word of God! We strive towards providing a safe, kid-friendly environment for children to grow closer to Jesus and His church.

Remember—You are Invited! We hope you will join us for church this Sunday! Let’s Get Connected! We invite you to come and experience life with us.

You don't want to miss this special service.

SATURDAY EVENING WORSHIP & PRAYER MEETING

We invite you all to join us as we gather together for an evening of Worship & Prayer this Saturday evening, January 11, 2025, from 6:30-7:30 pm, at Astoria First Assembly of God Church.

Here at Astoria First Assembly, we have a passion and call for prayer. We feel the need to pray even more with the social unrest in our nation and globe and living in these unprecedented times. However, we also want to praise God for who He is no matter what our circumstances!

As a church, one of our core values is connecting with God through prayer and worship. It’s for this reason that the Saturday Night Prayer Meeting is the most important service of the week! As a family of believers, we gather together to lift up needs in the church and around the world, believing God is going to move in mighty ways. Won’t you please join us this Saturday evening as we pray with faith that the Lord will help us in every area of our lives!

Beloved, our prayers release what God has willed in the heavenly realms to be poured out upon the earth. In His desire for relationship, God has ordained that His people would partner with Him to see His Kingdom come where we live.

I would like to invite you to come out on Saturday evening and pray with me. Would you set aside some time this week for intercession?

God only needs a few minutes of your time and a heart. You don’t need to worry about what to say. You just need to submit yourself to His authority and invite Him to lead. Allow His Spirit to fill your thoughts with His desires for prayer, and then give voice to them.

Amazing things happen when God Himself becomes the source of our prayers.

"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." 1 John 5:14-15

We will be having a Water Baptism during our Morning Worship Service at Astoria First Assembly of God, this Sunday, January 12, 2025.

If you haven't been baptized in water since you have come to the Lord, let me encourage you to follow the New Testament pattern and be baptized in water. Peter encouraged the 3,000 converts moments after their salvation to be baptized in water.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:38-39 NIV)

For those who are being Baptized, please arrive to the church at 9:30 AM on Baptism Sunday for our required Water Baptism Class.

Our Membership Class will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, immediately following our Sunday Morning Worship Service.

At Astoria First Assembly of God Church, we value membership. To us, our church is more than a platform for preaching and furthering the gospel—we’re a community of believers. As believers, we are to live out our Christian lives in the context of the local church. In the same way that the physical body has different, interconnected members, Paul tells us that we are “members one of another.”

While you could remain a guest of Astoria First Assembly of God Church or even a regular attendee of our weekend services, the real value of Astoria First Assembly begins with membership. Membership implies a commitment to the Astoria First Assembly of God family. It’s your way of saying, “Count on me!” In turn, we promise to commit Astoria First Assembly of God resources to meet your spiritual needs. That’s our way of saying, “You can count on us!”

Joining Astoria First Assembly of God Church allows you to be a part of a powerful kingdom community and receive the blessings and benefits of being a member. You can become a member of Astoria First Assembly by attending our Membership Class on Sunday, January 12, 2025, immediately following our morning worship service.
