SATURDAY NIGHT PRAYER MEETING @ Astoria First Assembly
We invite you all to join us as we gather for prayer this Saturday evening, June 26, 2021, from 6:00-7:00 pm, at our All Church Prayer Meeting at Astoria First Assembly of God Church.
A prayer meeting can be a time of real value as we seek a deep intimacy and quiet communion with God at His throne. It is a time of unity with fellow believers in the presence of the Lord. It is a time to care for those around us as we share their burdens. It is a time when God manifests His never-ending love and desire to communicate with those who love Him.
From the very beginning of the church, Christians have gathered to pray (Acts 4:24; Acts 12:5; Acts 21:5). Prayer meetings are valuable for the church as a whole and for the individuals who participate.
The value of corporate prayer lies in its power to unify hearts. Praying before God on behalf of our brothers and sisters has the effect of linking one another spiritually. As we “carry each other’s burdens,” we “fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2). Where there is prayer, there is unity, which Jesus so fervently prayed for His followers to have (John 17:23). More than anything else, prayer can bring about change. When you pray with and for one another, you have the ability to witness God's miraculous power of salvation, healing and transformation in the lives of others.
God's power is at work within us to bring Himself glory, whether it is the quiet power of changing hearts or the more visible power of working miracles.
I would like to invite you to come out on Saturday evening and pray with me. Would you set aside some time this week for intercession?
God only needs a few minutes of your time and a yielded heart. You don’t need to worry about what to say. You just need to submit yourself to His authority and invite Him to lead. Allow His Spirit to fill your thoughts with His desires for prayer, and then give voice to them.
Amazing things happen when God Himself becomes the source of our prayers. May we begin to move mountains in the name of Jesus.
Everyone is welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!
