Please Join us this Sunday Morning, October 4, 2020, at 10:30 AM, at Astoria 1st Assembly of God, as Pastor Nick and Janice Buhler share: #6 Be Courageous, Not Offended (Luke 3:19-20) as they continue in their "Watch and Pray" series.
How can I get through the tribulation ahead in these turbulent times? Be Courageous, Not Offended; Be Greater Than John (the Baptist); and, Be a Wise Child.
“But when John rebuked Herod the tetrarch because of Herodias, his brother’s wife, and all the other evil things he had done, Herod added this to them all: He locked John up in prison.”(Luke 3:19–20 NIV)
“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”(John 16:33 NAS95)
Be courageous, not offended: "Not to find a stumbling-block in the manner in which Christ had actually come, there was this condition of entering fully into the blessedness of his kingdom."
Be greater than John the Baptist: the humblest child of the new kingdom is superior to the greatest prophet of the old.
Be wise: The “children of wisdom” generally are those who obey God, and here are those of that generation who accepted the baptism of John and the ministry of Jesus, without making a stumbling-block of their different methods.
Pastor Steve and Lori Myall will be leading worship. You won’t want to miss being in church this Sunday!
We hope to see you there!!
