“And the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see an almond branch.” (Jeremiah 1:11 ESV)

"The Hebrew used here (shâkêd) is not the ordinary word for an almond tree, but a poetical expression, meaning that which is awakening, and referring to the blossoming of this tree as taking place while others are still in their winter sleep." Cambridge

Have you ever heard someone say, "I was born for this!" But many have gone through life not knowing why they are here? The Lord told Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 ESV). Like the almond tree that is the first blossom in the spring in Jerusalem, the Word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, so he was "awakened" to his destiny.

Do you know what you are destined for? Do you know what you were consecrated to be? Do you know what God has appointed you to become in this life? This Sunday, we want to explore and "awaken you" to what God has destined for your life.
