Please Join us this Sunday Morning, December 27, 2020, at 10:30 AM, for our Worship Service at Astoria 1st Assembly of God. Pastor Nick and Janice Buhler will be sharing Message #4 The Glory—Dwelling in His Presence, in their series, “The Conception of Christmas” for the month of December.
One of the great blessings of grace is God’s presence. The scriptures teach us that we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places, in the very presence of God. We dwell there 24 hours every day, 7 days every week, but it does not end there. He is also dwelling here with us 24/7. We are in Him, and He is in us. The Holy Spirit dwelling within us is God’s perpetual abiding presence. He has promised not to leave us nor forsake us: This is grace. You might wonder “How on earth is it possible that I am in presence of God now while I am still here on earth”. Remember, man is a spirit being, living in a body. The spirit does not have the geographical restrictions that the body has. Spiritually, you are in God’s presence, and you can train your soul and body to perpetually live there too! Let this truth sink into you, that you are in Him, and He is in you, here and now.
John 1:14-18New International Version
14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 (John testified concerning him. He cried out, saying, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’”) 16 Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and[a] is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.
Pastor Steve and Lori Myall will be leading worship. You won’t want to miss being in church this Sunday!
