Welcome to Astoria First Assembly of God church! We are beyond excited that you are here! We’ve got a place for you!!
It’s our great pleasure to invite you and your family to join us this Sunday, May 1, 2022, at 10:30 AM, for our In-Person Worship Service.
Pastor Nick Buhler will be delivering a message on Angels and Spiritual Authority.
“Angels and Spiritual Authority” - 2 Peter 2:10–12
What do angels teach us about spiritual authority? First, slanderous accusations are blasphemous; second, rely on God’s power, not criticism; third, your pastoral angel doesn’t need your help – so camp between angels.
Slanderous Accusation will turn God’s help into hindrances.
“In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.” (Acts 2:17 NIV)
Fellowship with God is a two way conversation in the spiritual realm, as we follow Christ, bearing His yoke in the world.
If we could see as God sees, who would we see? We would see the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We would also see angels, both faithful and fallen. These are invisible to us. We do not see or hear them. But they see us and hear us. They interact with us. Some act in love and truth. Others act in deceit and malice.
Everything under heaven belongs to God. Jesus is King of Kings. But Satan is prince of this world. We saints are in the world but not of the world. The kings of the earth take their stand against the Lord (Psalm 2:2). Their kingdoms will eventually be taken from them and given to the saints. Their prince will be thrown into the lake of fire forever. But until then, the saints are strangers and aliens on the earth, searching for a heavenly city... a city that will be established after the great judgement. Then the bondservants of Christ will reign forever. The scriptures below will establish all of these truths. If we live as if the unseen world doesn't exist, we live in a delusion. For much of what occurs visibly in the world, is an earthly manifestation of persons and events unseen.
We hope that you will make joining us at Church a part of your weekly plans. With a relevant message, engaging worship, and plenty of activities for the whole family, this Sunday will be a celebration @ Astoria First Assembly which you don’t want to miss!
Whether you prefer traditional or contemporary worship, we invite you to celebrate the good news in Jesus Christ with us as you worship with us!
The Holy Spirit is always THE true Worship Leader.
Worship is about honoring and praising our Lord and Savior. It is a time when we gather together to experience the presence of the Holy Spirit, and express our joy and gratitude. The power of God’s word touches those who are hurting and awakens hope for the hopeless.
Our Children's Ministries Department will be offering an amazing Kid's Church experience for your children in our Kid- Friendly Kid's Ministry Room. We strive towards providing a safe, kid-friendly environment for children to grow closer to Jesus and His church.
We invite you to bring your child to church every Sunday to interact with other kids and learn from the word of God!
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
Please come and join us this Sunday! We would love to meet you!
We invite you to come experience life with us!
We hope to see you in church this weekend!
Until then, Have a very Blessed Week!
